Klevaro's furniture range covers 130+ accent and small-footprint pieces designed for UK flats and smaller homes. You will find stools, side tables, decorative chests, bookshelves, console tables and storage benches that refresh a room without a full refit. These are the pieces you buy when a sofa is staying put but the room needs a refresh, or when you are filling a corner that has been awkward since you moved in. Browse alongside our home decor range for accessories, and kitchen and dining for matching tableware to dress a console or sideboard.
Most UK living rooms and bedrooms are tighter than they look on a floor plan. The strongest furniture choices in a small space earn their footprint twice over: a storage ottoman that doubles as a footstool and a blanket box, a console table with under-shelves for books, a bench with a lift-up seat for blankets or shoes by the door. Chests and trunks (originally storage pieces) work as side tables, coffee tables or bedroom benches with a runner over the top. Avoid large statement pieces unless the room is genuinely large; in rooms under 4m wide, a 1m-wide chest reads as a feature, while a 1.5m one feels cramped and stops the rest of the room from breathing. Vertical storage (tall slim bookshelves) is often a better answer than horizontal storage in tight rooms.
Solid wood (oak, pine, beech) is the most durable and ages well, but is the priciest and the heaviest to move. MDF (medium-density fibreboard) is cheaper, smooth-finished and stable, but it does not handle moisture and the screws lose grip if undone repeatedly (so it is not ideal for items that will be flat-packed and reassembled often). Veneer is real wood bonded to MDF or chipboard; it offers solid-wood looks at lower prices, but scratches more easily and does not sand back like solid wood does. For decorative and accent pieces (bedside tables, console tables, decorative chests), MDF or veneer at the right price works well and saves a lot of money. For daily-use surfaces (coffee tables, kitchen stools that take real punishment, dining benches), solid wood is worth the upgrade because it forgives use rather than accumulating damage.
An accent piece reads best when it has visual room around it. Leave 30 to 50cm of clear space on either side of a console table or chest where possible, and dress the top with two or three pieces (a lamp, a small ornament, a shallow tray) rather than crowding it with five or six items. Match wood tones loosely, not exactly: a warm oak piece pairs better with another warm-tone wood than with cool grey, but exact matches across a whole room often look catalogue-flat rather than collected. Layer with cushions and throws from our wider home decor range to soften the look. If you are working with a rented flat, lean into furniture that you can take with you (freestanding pieces) rather than fitted shelves; resale value on freestanding solid-wood furniture is also markedly better than on fitted MDF.
Klevaro is a UK-based independent retailer specialising in accent furniture and home decor for UK flats and smaller homes. We focus on small-footprint, hard-working pieces (storage benches, decorative chests, side tables) rather than full lounge suites. All stock is genuine and ships from the UK, with careful packaging on flat-pack items and easy 30-day returns. UK-based team replies the same working day on sizing or fit questions.
