Table and Bedside Lamps
Table lamps do the heavy lifting in UK homes: a single warm-white table lamp on a side table or sideboard can replace harsh overhead lighting in the evening and instantly soften a room. For bedrooms, a bedside lamp at around 30cm to 40cm tall sits at the right height for reading without dazzling. Check the bulb type before buying; most of ours take standard E27 or E14 fittings, and a 2700K to 3000K warm white bulb gives the cosiest light. Cool white (above 4000K) feels clinical in a lounge or bedroom.
Himalayan Salt Lamps and Mood Lighting
Himalayan salt lamps give off a warm orange glow that suits bedrooms, meditation corners and snug rooms. They also act as a subtle decor piece during the day, with each natural salt crystal a slightly different shape and size. Pair with a few Scented Candles for an unplugged evening setup. Decorative LED Lamps and Small Lights

Many run on USB-C or batteries, which makes them ideal for rental flats with limited socket placement. LED bulbs use about a tenth of the energy of an old incandescent, so leaving an accent lamp on through the evening costs pennies. Some pieces have built-in timers (typically 6 hours on, 18 hours off), useful if you want a nightlight that switches itself off. Building a Layered Lighting Plan
The reason a single overhead bulb makes a room feel flat is that good interior lighting works in three layers: ambient (general), task (focused), and accent (decorative). Our table and bedside lamps cover the ambient layer. Pair them with a brighter floor or desk lamp for reading and working (the task layer), and add one or two small LED or salt lamps as accent pieces on shelves or sideboards. Three light sources at different heights, all warm white, instantly turn a stark room into a lived-in one. Avoid mixing warm white and cool white in the same room; the contrast is jarring and makes everything look unbalanced.
