Ceramic Oil Burners and Wax Melt Warmers
This is the largest single range on the site, with more than 170 ceramic oil burners and wax melt warmers held in UK stock. Almost every piece is a genuine burner rather than a decorative lookalike, which matters more than it sounds: the bowl has to sit far enough above the tealight to melt wax evenly without scorching it, and cheap moulded copies rarely get that gap right. The range splits into four honest groups. Crackle glaze burners in brown, gunmetal grey, red and iridescent light blue are the biggest seller and come in small and large sizes. Cut out designs, including mystical moon, star sign and owl patterns, throw pierced light across a wall once the tealight is lit. Deep bowl burners in black, grey and off white are the plain workhorses. Novelty shapes cover gonks, mushroom houses, Nordic cabins, witch boots, carrots and pumpkins.
Electric Aroma Lamps and Tealight Burners
Eight designs in this range are electric aroma lamps rather than tealight burners, including dark forest print and palm reading patterns. An electric aroma lamp uses a low wattage bulb to warm the dish instead of a naked flame, so it is the sensible choice for a bedroom, a nursery or anywhere a candle is not welcome. Everything else takes a standard tealight, which is the cheaper way to run a burner day to day. If you are buying wax rather than oil, our soy wax snap discs are cut to fit a standard burner dish, and the seasonal versions sit in Christmas wax melt burners and Halloween oil burners.
Choosing Between Oil and Wax
Fragrance oil needs a little water in the dish and gives a fast, sharp scent throw that fades quickly. Wax melts take longer to reach temperature but hold their scent for hours and leave a solid disc you can lift out and reuse. Sixty two of these burners are sold explicitly as oil burner and wax warmer, meaning the dish is deep enough for both. The shallower cut out designs suit oil better. If you want the whole picture across candles, incense and diffusers, start from our home fragrance gift sets hub.
Care, Sizing and Gifting
Wipe the dish while the wax is still soft, or freeze the burner for twenty minutes and pop the disc out clean. Never run a burner dry, and give the ceramic ten minutes to cool before moving it, because thermal shock is what cracks these rather than knocks. Sixteen crackle glaze designs and fourteen cut out designs make up the largest two format groups, so if you are buying a matching pair for opposite ends of a room those are the ranges with enough variants to do it. Large crackle glaze burners stand around fourteen centimetres and suit a mantelpiece; the small versions are better on a bathroom shelf. Four ready made wax melt burner gift sets pair a burner with melts. Matching scented tube candles and incense cone holders complete the set.
