Where is the best place to put a boot stand and scraper?

Just outside a back or side door, on a hard level surface such as a paving slab, concrete step or decking. Placing it on soil or gravel means it sinks and tips over the first wet winter. Under a porch or overhang is better still, because boots left in the open simply fill with rain rather than drying out.

Will a two pair boot stand take walking boots as well as wellingtons?

Yes. The stand is designed around the height and shaft of a standard wellington, but walking boots, work boots and riding boots all sit on it perfectly well. The point is keeping the opening downward so moisture drains out and air circulates through the boot, which is what actually dries them rather than warmth alone.

Are the Rolson metal ornaments suitable for leaving outdoors?

They are made for outdoor display and are painted or finished to cope with British weather, but no painted metal ornament lasts indefinitely in constant wet. To get years rather than seasons from them, place them where they get some shelter, lift them off wet soil onto a slab or gravel, and bring the smaller pieces under cover through the worst of the winter.

Do felt pads work on laminate as well as real wood?

Yes, and arguably they matter more on laminate. Laminate has a thin decorative wear layer that scratches through easily and cannot be sanded back, so once a chair leg scores it the damage is permanent. Clean and dry the leg before sticking the pad on, and check the pads every few months because grit works its way into the felt.

How do I remove adhesive hooks without pulling off paint?

Pull the release tab slowly straight down along the wall rather than outwards, holding steady tension for several seconds. Pulling away from the surface is what lifts paint and plaster. If there is no tab, warm the adhesive with a hairdryer for around thirty seconds, then work fishing line or dental floss behind the hook in a sawing motion.

Rolson Shoe Racks, Boot Stands and Scrapers for UK Hallways

This is the porch, hallway and utility room corner of the Rolson Tools UK range, built around shoe racks, boot stands and boot scrapers for houses where muddy footwear is a daily fact rather than an occasional problem. Alongside the storage sits a small group of cast and painted metal ornaments, including large and rustic silver cockerels, a duck garden ornament, a sunflower plant ornament, an open top bus and a vintage three wheel car. The rest of the collection covers the practical extras that live in the same cupboard: travel kits and eye masks, a stainless steel travel mug, a foldable garment bag, felt floor pads, adhesive hooks and picture hanging strips, plus a 10W flood light and a bar stool.

Boot Scrapers and Two Pair Boot Stands

A two pair boot stand with an integrated scraper is the most useful thing here for anyone with a dog, an allotment or a rural driveway. It keeps wellingtons upright so they dry inside instead of sitting in their own puddle, and the scraper edge takes the worst of the mud off before it reaches the doormat. The separate boot and shoe scrubber goes a step further with bristles for the sole and sides, which is what you want for walking boots and site footwear. Both work best positioned just outside a back door on a hard, level surface where they will not sink into soil over winter.

Cast Metal Ornaments and Garden Figures

The metal ornaments are a genuine part of this range rather than an afterthought, and they suit porches, doorsteps, conservatories and border edges equally well. The large cockerel and rustic silver cockerel are the statement pieces at door height, while the sunflower plant ornament and duck sit naturally among planting. The open top bus and vintage three wheel car are the ones people buy as gifts, particularly for anyone with a transport interest. If you are looking specifically for outdoor figures, our garden ornaments range is broader, and the wider ornaments collection covers indoor giftware.

Travel Kits, Hooks and Floor Protection

The remaining items solve small, recurring annoyances. Felt pads in 75mm four packs stop chair, stool and table legs scoring wood and laminate, which is a five minute fix that saves an expensive refinish. Removable adhesive hooks and picture hanging strips hang coats, keys and frames without drilling, useful in rented homes. The 3 piece travel kit with eye mask, pillow and cushion, the eye mask and ear plug set, the foldable garment bag and the stainless steel travel mug with holder cover the packing drawer.
